FTP in web hosting

FTP or File Transfer protocol is the network protocol that is used to transfer or copy files from one host to another. FTP is a simple an application protocol that uses the TCP/IP protocols and thereby helping one to upload or download contents to web server. FTP serves webmasters to great extent for different actions but it is mostly used by web developers. Client – server architecture is that what FTP make use of, with separate control and data connections between the client and server .

FileZilla, WinSCP are few FTP clients that are commonly used. Authenticated logins are required for FTP connections. Some servers are set such that anyone can make use of it and using anonymous FTP they will be able to download or upload files. cPanel username and password and host can be used for FTP access. Graphical user interface is commonly used than command line applications now. Thus FTP helps user to delete, move, rename, update or copy files at a server. So getting an idea bout FTP helps one to handle his/her website efficiently when it comes to web hosting.

FileZilla is the easy one for me. I tired WinScp also but FileZilla seems like bit more user friendly one.
