How to avoid Windows genuine notification?
Are you irritated about “This copy of Windows is not genuine” notification? Go through this post to know how to get rid of Windows genuine notification. This is not a big task or a technical issue, genuine copy is identified by a system program. If you remove this file, you can get rid of this. Notification will come when we login to system and there is a system tray to notify that you are not using a genuine version of Windows. So here are the things to avoid this notification.
Windows Genuine notification checks if you have a genuine copy of Windows registered to that computer. It allows you to update your computer with the Windows updates. If you have installed it, and you do not have a genuine copy of Windows XP installed, then you may notice an icon at the bottom of your window before you Login. It will make you wait five seconds before allowing you to login.
To remove system tray
- Restart in Safe Mode
- Go to C:\Windows\System32\
- Locate and delete WgaTray.exe
- Then go to C:\Windows\System32\dllcache\
- Delete WgaTray.exe in that folder also
- Then Click “Start” button
- Click “Run” button
- Type “regedit” and then press enter
- Goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify
- Then delete the WGALOGON folder
- Restart your computer
Now you are WGA free. Once you Restart your computer then we you will not see the notification again, both in system tray and in your login screen.
